Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is one of a network of 19 centers in the state whose mission is “to provide quality direct assistance, entrepreneurial education and resource links for potential and existing small businesses to strengthen the economy of New Mexico.”

The New Mexico SBDC is a partnership of the US Small Business Administration (SBA), the State of New Mexico, the New Mexico Association of Community Colleges, the private sector and any and all entrepreneurs (or potential entrepreneurs) seeking to do business in the state.

You may visit the website of the New Mexico SBDC at http://www.nmsbdc.org

Each center offers free and confidential business advice, free or low-cost training, business workshops, access to state and federal resources, and referrals to other assistance providers when appropriate.  Assistance includes business planning, marketing and financing help, import and export trade assistance, research and much more.  The SBDC has programs geared specifically to women and minority-owned businesses, young entrepreneurs and veterans.

Lincoln and Chaves counties are served by a Small Business Development Center that is operated under a joint powers agreement between Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell and the Board of Directors of SNMEDD/COG.

Within the SNMEDD/COG service area, there are three other Small Business Development Centers–all of which are associated with their local community colleges.  There is also has a full-time counselor in Ruidoso who can be contacted through the Roswell office.
